If God is present in each conversation we are having, can we allow his voice to be heard? Or are we too busy inputting our own opinions and advice to actually allow the Spirit to speak. What might happen if we became people who actually let God say what needs to be said...?

John Calvin includes this peculiar statement in the introduction to his institutes: “Without knowledge of self there is no knowledge of God.” It is such a strange statement from someone so focused on God first and foremost. This statement sounds like something that would come from a 20th century proponent of the therapeutic approach, rather than from a 16th century Reformer.

A new documentary, "A Place for All: Faith and Community for Persons with Disabilities" by the Interfaith Broadcasting Commission, is to begin airing on ABC affiliates December 6. Last Thursday, I was introduced to someone who goes to a very large church in our area. When he asked about my work, I explained that I help churches learn ways to include people with disabilities in the life of the church. He replied that he wasn’t aware of any people with disabilities at his church. When I saw one of his pastors today, I mentioned that comment.
