When I became a deacon I got a giant binder of information. I loved it! The year after me someone got that same binder and was totally overwhelmed. I wonder if a gradual training program would be a better way of introducing new deacons to their role? The Office of Deacon Task Force is currently exploring this idea, and looking for your input!

The Christian Reformed Church wants to assist your smaller church in utilizing technology effectively and efficiently so that you can focus your energy on growing your church instead of figuring out how to operate equipment. To do this the Sustaining Congregational Excellence (SCE) program established two grants, the first provides up to $1,000 US for equipment in your church. The second provides up to $500 US for training on equipment in your church.

Some things are just better said in Spanish than in English. In my Spanish Bible Romans 6:13b literally says, “Present yourselves to God as the living among the dead, and your members to God as instruments of justice.” (Emphasis added.) "Vivos entre los muertos" or the living among the dead is a striking image of the nature of Christian witness. This image became real for me last week while I was in El Salvador visiting Seeds of a New Creation (www.casasemillas.org), a CRCNA partner organization supported by grants from CRWM and Back to God Ministries International.
