I’ve had the opportunity to see what the Father is doing in India through the careful distribution of simple, paper tracts. The numbers are so vast, they can only be believed when I recognize the immense power of God to use a low-caste slum dweller with a Gospel tract to bring a Hindu to faith in Jesus.

I'm on a college tour with my daughter this week. One of the other dads grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, which has since become the center of Arab-American settlement in the United States. He said that he's had many conversations with people who lamented the arrival of this community in their area. His response was

This campaign has occured in January for a number of years in various formats. This year it features

Imagine an ongoing learning and training system in which the difference between participant and leader is minimal and there is a spirit of unity and growth in which persons at every level and stage of leadership within a cluster are multi-dimensionally co-mentored and multi-directionally mentored on an ongoing basis.

There is no need to copy this in total. Each cluster will have its own unique character, or DNA. Yet, what you will read here is a common methodology that appears to be working.

We are beginning to dream and talk about ministry clusters within the CRCNA. Perhaps it is good to take some time and space to define what we mean when we say “cluster”. I would offer a working definition stating that
“A cluster is a localized gathering of church and ministry leaders sharing a common vision, strategy, resources and system for developing leadership, planting new churches and ministries as well as adding to the health and vitality of existing churches. This synergistic effort is undertaken for the sake of the Gospel.
In addition to a working definition, it is essential...

I spent the 1985-86 school year as a seminary intern in the recently planted Fairfield (CA) Christian Reformed Church. It was exciting to be part of building (literally) a new church in a community where the CRC had not been represented. It was, according to the protocol of the day, quite a ways from other CRCs of any kind and even farther from a recently planted congregation. This had its blessings, but also its challenges. I'm glad to say that a new and more effective approach is now being used
