Visit Other Churches

On Sunday I attended an outdoor service at another church.  As we drove in I noticed the "stay off the median" signs, many members assisting with directing traffic, and then a "welcoming" person handing out bulletins.  At the same time I noticed a new hospitality building, the old hospitality building updated from last year's vacation visit, the First Aid center, and the childcare area. After the service, the members serve sno cones, homemade donuts, and coffee, all spaced out so the "lines" move quickly and yet close enough for people to greet each other.

This vacation visit each summer provides refreshment for me as a I worship our awesome God outdoors but also as I reflect on the many people at this church who serve us on Sundays in the summer.  Wow! How has this ministry been presented to people so they are eager to assist even on a hot Sunday in July? I think this church must communicate well the value of this ministry so the people are serving joyfully.  How can we be more hospitable at our church? Share your story of summer hospitality at your church in a comment!
