Say "Welcome" to Jonathan!

It's the 4th Monday of January. What does that mean? It's "Community Manager Appreciation Day", of course!

All right, this isn't one of the more well known days. Your calendar may notwon't list it. And your local store may not won't carry cards for it. In fact, you might be wondering...what in the world is a Community Manager?

A Community Manager works - mostly behind the scenes - on behalf of the community. They listen to the needs of the community, monitor the conversation, and advocate for features or content that will help people. They also serve as a site ambassador, always looking for new people to invite into the community. If people or conversations get out of hand, they weigh in with a calm voice and, if necessary, a "block" button on their screen. You can read more about the Four Tenets of a Community Manager.

Did you know The Network has a Community Manager?

His name is Jonathan Wilson and he joined us in October. He works 1/2 for The Network, 1/4 for The Banner, and 1/4 for general CRC Communications (including posting updates here and here and here, and tweeting there andthere and there).

He's here for you!

So, on this Community Manager Appreciation Day (or anytime thereafter), join me in officially welcoming Jonathan to this Network community!

Let's see how many people we can get to say "Welcome, Jonathan". C'mon, it'll just take a second. Post "Welcome, Jonathan" as a comment below!
