Resilient Families: Walking Together through Every Generation

Comments (2)

We invite you to our Disability Concerns Canada (DCC) spring training and connection event, planned for April 29 at Hebron CRC in Whitby. We encourage you to send a group from your church, because those who attend will be better equipped to minister with families in your church and community.

Our theme is ‘Resilient Families: Walking Together through Every Generation’. Our keynote speaker, Sara Pot, is a mom, blogger, and columnist for Christian Courier who will speak about ‘Lamentations and Lessons Learned: Parenting Children with Special Needs’.

Sara and her husband Ralph are parents to four beautiful girls including two who were born with an undiagnosed syndrome. Rachel and Janneke are g-tube fed, and both girls cannot walk independently or talk, and Rachel and Janneke bring joy with their smiles and teach grace through their dependency on others. Watch a two minute video about the Pot family, or better yet, show it to your congregation.

Afternoon workshops tailored to supporting families living with disabilities include finance and estate planning, ‘when to let go’, sibling and family member support, ministering with people who have Alzheimer’s, and more!

Please help us promote the event by using the attached promotional information.
