Two questions from two different people in two weeks:

  1. “Children at my church have been welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper for some time now. We leave it up to the parents to explain it to them, but we haven’t given parents any tools to help them have those conversation. I worry about that. Do you have anything that supports parents?”
  2. “Do you have any Sunday school sessions on the Lord’s Supper that we could use at church to talk with kids about communion?”

One answer: “Yes!”

The Welcoming Children to the Lord’s Supper toolkit contains excellent resources to support parents/caregivers and children’s leaders as they engage kids in conversations about the Lord’s Supper.

Under the Family Resources tab you’ll find tools to support parents and other caregivers as they talk with their children about communion, a downloadable bookmark with conversation starters, and links to a re-usable family devotional.

Under the Educational Resources tab you’ll find children’s ministry sessions — including a brand new set of sessions — for children in Preschool through Middle School. Developed by Faith Formation Ministries, each session can be  inserted into your Sunday school or children’s ministry calendar no matter what curriculum you are using.
