We at ReFrame Media would like to offer you a Thanksgiving gift — printable Thanksgiving Day cards from Family Fire for your holiday table. Each one includes a Bible verse and a question to spur conversation and reflection about things for which we are thankful.

The idea for these cards began with a Thanksgiving dinner among strangers. It was Steven and Deb Koster's first time celebrating Thanksgiving in a new city, and they didn’t want to be alone. They offered an open invitation at their church, but they now had a new challenge — how to help this group of strangers feel like family.

So Deb picked up some blank cards from the dollar store. In each card, she wrote a Bible verse and a simple question on thankfulness. Then, she set a card at each place around the table as an invitation to the conversation.

Over dinner, card by card, the Kosters and their guests shared laughter and thankfulness. "Eyes became misty talking about a favorite mentor, people reflected on a special sighting of God’s grace, and laughter flowed over outrageous childhood memories," says Deb, now a co-producer of Family Fire. "The sharing helped us to see our part in God’s story. Strangers became friends and God was worshipped."

Are you welcoming new faces around your table this Thanksgiving? Hebrews 13:1-2 says, “Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Even if you gather with only familiar faces this year, we pray these cards will help you and your guests deepen your thankfulness to God and love for one another.
