The Network is pleased to announce a new network: Synod 2011. Your guide to Synod 2011 is the Rev. George Vander Weit, who served four congregations in Ohio and Michigan before retiring in 2008. He and Bonnie now call Rochester, Michigan, their home. George is well known to the church as a Banner columnist and a 14-time delegate to Synod. His interest in regional assemblies (classes) and the annual CRC-wide assembly (Synod) has made him an expert on how the denomination conducts its business. Even those who disagree with George’s passionately-held views respect his energy, eloquence, and love for the Church and her Lord. As a network guide, George will blog about the issues coming before Synod 2011, which will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from June 10-16. He invites you to participate in a conversation with him and others about those issues.
This network is being created in response to a request of Synod 2010, which asked that the CRC’s Board of Trustees find ways to better engage CRC members with Synod and the issues it deliberates.
