Preaching about the Women in the Gospels this season:

Preaching about the Women in the Gospels this season:

I found it difficult to preach as a male about the interactions Jesus had with women in the Gospels.  I missed their hesitations and their feelings of exclusion.   I did not get it.

Ruth VanderZee, in her recently published book WOMAN MEETS JESUS, gets inside the skin and culture of the women of Jesus’ day, and as a result this book is a powerful resource to a male preacher.

Quentin Schultze of Calvin College edited this book, and said, “WOMAN MEETS JESUS takes my breath away.”   Ruth helps a male preacher see that these ladies are models for women (and men too) today of how to receive the welcoming grace Jesus offers.
