ideas for a church communications survey

For a master's in communications I am pursuing here in Grand Rapids at Grand Valley State University, I am doing a study of my church's communications: Facebook, website, bulletin announcements, prayer chains, etc. I would like to do a survey of the church members, asking them about comm preferences, tools they use, that sort of thing.

Does anyone know of any such surveys that I could use as a starting point vs starting from scratch? What about any such studies that might have been published? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Good questions, Phil. I don't personally know any answers, unfortunately. I'd love to hear more about your project and how it turns out. I'm hoping others on the network will have some ideas.

You might check with either the research center at Calvin College or the Pew Forum website.

you might try kemmeyer.com, a website/blog of the communications director of Grainger Community Church. You also might try churchmarketingsucks.com.

Sounds like a really interesting project. Like the others, I unfortunately have no suggestions, but am very interested in what you learn.
