As part of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, new health insurance marketplaces are being created where anyone can purchase coverage for themselves and their families. A marketplace is like an online insurance mega-mall. Based on where they live, participants will get insurance options to compare. These marketplaces will have open enrollment in October 2013, with coverage beginning January 1, 2014. Read more »

	Divine Familial Terms Controversy Posted in Global Mission \| June 18, 2013, 8:01 am From time to time I receive emails from concerned church members over controversial Bible translations. The translations in question are seven Wycliffe/SIL projects in Muslim contexts where the translators sought to put the Word of God into language that could be easily understood by the intended audience. This kind of translation is called a Muslim Idiom Translation. At the center of this controversy are the names God the Father and Son of God, which we call divine familial terms. Read more »

At first, I couldn’t discern the fault in his thinking; it was completely logical: “I will have to face these bullies every day. No one will help me. Therefore, I must help myself. 	Karibu Coffee Break Posted in Small Groups \| June 17, 2013, 5:35 pm The Bible League of Kenya developed a partnership with Coffee Break to share the materials and method in order to encourage small group Bible discovery. Most often, ‘Bible Study’ in Africa means teaching. People learn about the Bible through teaching in sermons, Sunday School and small groups. Read more »

	The Story of the Briefcase Posted in Disability Concerns \| June 10, 2013, 2:41 pm \| 6 comments The briefcase moved with us over the years and eventually ended up in the basement of our current home. As I brought the briefcase upstairs, its usefulness was apparent. It was dirty, ripped, and rusted in its hardware. But now it was destined to go in the trash.
