At Your Baptism...

I’m always looking for ways to help kids “remember” their baptism and understand what it means. So I was excited to see the latest board book from Eerdmans Books for Young Readers. It’s called At Your Baptism, and features beautiful illustrations and a couple different ways that you can read it with kids.

At the top of the page is the French Reformed liturgy for baptism—words that kids will grow to understand as they grow older. At the bottom of the page are simpler words that explain God’s love, and how Jesus, “lived, died, and rose from the dead for us because he loves us.” So you can read the words at the bottom or the top (or simply look at the pictures and use the words as talking points).

This is a great little book to have on the shelf at your church and to give to infants to mark the milestone of baptism. It’s a keeper that they will continue to cherish as they grow up and grow in faith.
