About Me

I am a wanderer pursuing grace. Born in GR, MI- moved to AZ, IA, MT as a youth; located in IA, CA, MT as an adult. I came into the CRC when I was 10 years old, nearly 5 decades ago, and have never left.

I am married to a wonderful gal who shares my love of family, education, travel and adventure- that includes dutchoven cooking. I have 3 wonderful children, who have three equally wonderful spouses, who in turn have given us a growing number of grandchildren- eight presently.

While being blessed abundantly, I have also experienced a few detours in my life.  One of the most recent challenges has been the journey into silence- I have severe sensorineural       hearing loss requiring bilateral cochlear implants.  Being one who thrives on self-reliance and independence, this adventure has taught me dependence and patience are also gifts to be cherished.

As a long time Cadet counselor, I have learned much from those younger than me, and God's wonderful creation. Currently I am an active counselor, Developer of Counselor Education, and Regional Training Coordinator for the North Region- AB & MT.

I have attended too many colleges and universities- more than a dozen, and have a couple of degrees and one unfinished to boot. I was once a teacher in IA, CA, MT; now a service writer and computer support specialist.

Lastly, but not least- I enjoy the challenge of being a Stated Clerk for Classis Yellowstone- a love for the church handed down from my parents- of which if you know me...I have been blessed with too many also:-)

My name is Delbert Delos VanDenBerg (formerly Packard & Croff)- I am perhaps the only Dutchman by choice in the world!

So much to read...so much to contemplate, and shucks- Article 17 takes up such a small place in the Church Order!

Can we "can" 17- no, I don't think so.  "...
