Preaching Resources

Did you know there are "Reading Sermons" available on the CRCNA website?  You'll find the link to them below, as well as some other ideas for those times you may find yourself without a preacher.

Reading Sermons

A searchable collection of complete sermons provided by the “Reading Sermon Committee” of the CRC intended to be read by an elder or other congregant member if their pastor was unable to preach during that particular service and pulpit supply was not available. See Reading Sermons

Sermon Videos

For churches that find themselves without a pastor to preach on a Sunday and would prefer to play a video rather than have someone read a sermon consider the following options:

  1. Search “Christian Reformed Church” on YouTube for saved sermons from various CRC churches including Lucknow Community CRC, Lucknow, Ontario; Grace CRC, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Trinity CRC, Ames, Iowa; First CRC, Detroit, Michigan; Bradenton CRC, Bradenton, Florida.
  2. Search YouTube for your favorite Reformed preacher by name.

*We would like to build a specific list of videos of well-crafted and delivered biblical and reformed sermons that would “preach” outside of their original setting. The video and audio itself needs to be done well and work when projected on a large screen. Please send videos you have successfully used to worship@crcna.org.

Center for Excellence in Preaching

The CEP website contains sermon starters as well as an archive of audio sermons. If you require additional assistance please email Rev. Scott Hoezee, director of the center.

Reformed Worship

In each issue of Reformed Worship you will find a column entitled “Series for the Season” which includes ideas for sermon series.
