It’s hard to believe that the Youth Unlimited Soul Care Retreats are beginning this month. It was just shy of a year ago that I first made you aware of them via this Network – how fast time goes. Each retreat is unique to its surroundings but there is one common thread running through all six – Peace, No Matter What.

If there is a retreat in your general area – I hope you are able to make it out so we'll be able to meet in person.  If not, and if you are keen on this ‘retreat’ concept, send me a note. We are always looking ahead.

While I was manning the Youth Unlimited booth at the Canadian Youth Workers Convention in Toronto, Mags Storey stopped by for a visit. We talked for some time but when I mentioned to her the concept behind these Soul Care Retreats I noticed that her curiosity was piqued.  We talked some more and then she walked on to the next booth.

In mid-December I received a call from Mags Storey and she introduced herself as a writer for the newspaper Christian Week and that she would like to do a write-up about the Soul Care Retreats. When I asked her why she said they are unique in meeting the needs of youth workers across North America. She mentioned that from her perspective most youth ministry conferences and retreats are designed to learn about and grow youth ministry but these are about the person not the job.

Here’s Mags Storey’s article on the Soul Care Retreats: Retreats help youth workers avoid burnout

As you continue in ministry may you be encouraged and continue to experience peace that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
