This is a great time to think about training new leaders for Children & Worship. A trained leader is much more effective in nurturing the faith of little ones. Think outside the box for leaders. I've been leading children for over 20 years and I started in my early forties. Think of grandparents or empty nesters. It's a wonderful way to connect with children in your congregation. Often children feel ignored by adults at church. I'm just the opposite — I tend to ignore the parents because of my connections through children and worship. On Sunday I was having a conversation with one of the boys who used to be in my worship center; after about 10 minutes, he said, "I think this is the longest conversation I've ever had." This is the kind of benefit you receive from being a worship leader. Don't think of getting leaders as a chore, think of it as a gift to someone who may be looking for a place to minister in your congregation. For more information on training options, go to http://www.faithaliveresources.org/Pages/About/Training-and-Webinars.aspx — there is a connection to the upcoming training as well as a list of trainers you can contact in your area to schedule a training session.

Blessings as you look for leaders to nurture these little ones we've been entrusted with.
