Christianity Today recently published an article identifying the top 5 church design and architecture trends to look for in the year ahead. The article is titled Inside the Church Building of 2017 and the top trends are identified by Marian Liautaud, director of Marketing for The Aspen Group. The top 5 list includes:

  1. Let There Be Light
  2. Connecting Space is King
  3. A Place to Play
  4. For the Common Good
  5. Small is the New Big

Some of these trends are fairly self explanatory but others need more of a description. After reading a quick summary of the trends, I'd be interested to hear if you've seen any of these trends at your church.

Have you recently remodeled or planted a church? How did you decide on the design or layout? What kind of ministry considerations came in to play? How did you determine the budget? I'd love to hear from you!
