Here is some information on the featured image and the artist who created it:
Wayne Forte is a Filipino-American painter who lives, works, and exhibits in both California and the Philippines. Wayne’s art explores his faith, the Bible, and their relationship to his multicultural life.
Wayne painted La Vida es Minutos (“Life Is Minutes”) in the 1990s when he was collaging images with biblical texts to explore religious themes. In La Vida es Minutos we are presented with a large fallen head contemplating the flame of faith as it flickers and life burns out. The head is juxtaposed by a raw, beating heart on one side and an hourglass on the other. As our life-blood beats through our hearts, the time of our life passes ever so quickly.
In La Vida es Minutos, the artist wraps the fallen head with the prophetic words of Psalm 103. The background is filled with the words of the psalmist expressing God’s great love for us. The painting shows us that even though our life is measured in minutes, God’s love is forever.
