My church is currently looking at options for an online church directory. We'd like to have a desktop version available but also an app available with all the information traditionally found in a print directory (photo, address, email, etc). Anyone have any recommendations for a good service to use? Or, any to stay away from?

The Bridge App, which the CRCNA is currently being rolled out by Canadian Ministries to congregations in Canada is a smartphone app (Apple and Android) that includes a directory component.

Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church uses Instant Church Directory. It has desktop and mobile device versions. We have used it for a couple of years and are very satisfied with it, although a recent change to logins and passwords may require users to re-register their mobile devices - which sometime produces issues with a handful of users.

I've heard good things about Instant Church Directory as well (from a colleague who uses it in his church). Also, check if your Church Management System (ChMS) offers this (or has plans to). My own church is moving to a web-based ChMS that apparently has a free app with directory functionality. That way you don't have to maintain directory details across two systems.

Maranatha CRC (Holland, MI) just rolled out the online directory portion of our online Church Management software called SimpleChurch CRM. I've been using the church management side of it for about a year and a half, and have finally decided to make the online directory portion available to our members (website and mobile app). SimpleChurch is cost effective and, in my opinion, extremely user-friendly. It's easy to use their 60-day free trial to test it out!
