20 hour a week, part-time Campus Pastor

International Campus Ministry is a registered student organization at Western Michigan University uniquely positioned to demonstrate Christian hospitality and present the gospel to International students as well as the whole university community. The ministry is designed to provide opportunities for friendship, fellowship and the study of Christianity for all those who would seriously like to grow in their Christian faith or learn more about the Christian faith. We use the word “ministries” because we want to provide opportunities for students who have different interests. This is a part time position with the potential to increase toward full time.
Responsibilities of the Campus Pastor:
Pursue the ICM Vision “To develop International students as ‘influencers’ for Christ.”
Conduct oneself in a way that honors Jesus and represents ICM with integrity in both the physical and online communities
Engage students with the Life-Changing Love of God, and meet with and disciple them
Be a positive entity on campus, engaging with all International offices
Work to organize, plan and execute weekly international student lunches every Thursday during the fall and winter semesters
Be a Bridge to Jesus Christ and His Church
Demonstrate the Love of God for the City of Kalamazoo
Responsible to secure the funds for their position. This includes a combination of available funds for the position and diligent fund raising.
Accountability is to the local Governance Team for ICM, The Southwest Michigan Classis of the RCA, and the Home Missions Team of Classis Kalamazoo CRC.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by the guidelines of the Synod of the Great Lakes for ordained staff and according to experience, education and skills for those who are not ordained.
