So many times websites break key principles of web design, or just sit dormant and are not updated or fixed. Heal Your Church Website has a great post that details 5 Things that Heal your Church Website. This list helps to curtail these problems with websites and maybe bring some new life into your website. The biggest item that jumps out to me is defining the purpose of your church website, and letting that purpose guide it's design and implementation. While this is not specifically mentioned, the last two items deal with this topic. Just because you can add video or music to your site does not mean you should. Instead, determine if it fulfills the purpose of your website. This Network mentions social media like Twitter and Facebook a lot, but do not just implement them because you can. Only implement these tools if they fit your website's purpose.
