Each One Reach One

At our wrap-up meeting of our Coffee Break this year, we were sharing how beautiful it was that we witnessed the Profession of Faith of two women who had come to know Jesus.  The year before we also witnessed the Profession of Faith of two other women.  We are thankful that God has invited us into this journey of life change.

This has not always been the case.  We recalled a season a few years ago when Coffee Break had dwindled to 4-6 women coming together.  We enjoyed rich times of sharing and learning. We were privileged to have great child-care in place; 3 women came faithfully to watch our children.  We lamented the fact that there weren't more women, from our church or from the community who wanted to engage scripture with us.  So, we began to pray.

I prayed personally that God would bring me someone who wanted to know about Jesus.  We prayed as a group that God would bring us others who wanted to study the Bible and who wanted to know Jesus.

Within a few weeks, we learned of a few women from a neighbouring church who wanted to join us.  This almost doubled our group.  The following year, some women who were connected to the food ministries of our church also started attending.  We’ve had the opportunity to introduce women to Jesus through the study of His word.  In addition to the professions of faith mentioned earlier, we now have a group full of women who are seeking, learning and growing, all of whom have come from outside of our church walls.

We decided that this coming year our theme would be “Each One Reach One”.  We are inviting all of our women to pray for someone, to reach out to someone, and to invite someone to come to Coffee Break, or to come to know Jesus.

Consider gathering with your leaders and asking everyone to share the following:

  • Who are you praying for?
  • Who is God leading you to connect with, to share with, to invite to Coffee Break?
  • How can you encourage others in your group to join you in prayer?

Won’t you join me in praying for others to come to know Jesus?  At Global Coffee Break, it’s our prayer that each Coffee Break group would experience one person coming to know Jesus this year.  Will you pray with us?
