Even though our circumstances changed dramatically and unexpectedly because of the pandemic, what a comfort to know and to experience that God’s character and his promises are unchangeable!

One of His promises says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This is exactly what I have seen during this difficult time. So, I would like to share one sweet blessing the Lord gave me because of COVID-19.

Beginning several years ago, I had the privilege of serving my sisters in the faith from New Jersey at the Northeast Coffee Break Women’s Retreat as a Spanish translator. Eventually, I became a Spanish workshop trainer for Discover Your Bible. Since that first retreat, these sisters and I created a special bond, and I fell in love with these ladies! I would love to spend more time with them, but it is difficult since I live in Florida and they live in New Jersey.

Because of COVID-19, the ladies from Jersey City Mission Church are meeting via Zoom. This gave me the opportunity to join their Bible study. Thanks to meeting via Zoom, there were others that were able to participate, including a woman bedridden because of her back, and another having treatment for cancer. I also met new ladies who have not participated in the retreats, and I was especially happy to meet one woman who is a new believer!

This group is currently studying the Spanish version of the book Discover Comfort from discoveryourbible.org, a great fit for such a time as this! As a trainer, I was able to encourage and support the young woman who led the group and is a newer leader. She expressed her appreciation for me joining the Bible study, and requested I give her feedback. It will be a privilege to coach her as she continues to lead the Discover Your Bible lessons.

It was so encouraging to be part of a beautiful conversation with my sisters as we read Scripture and were comforted by the Word. We experienced the joy of the Lord and our hearts were full as we shared Biblical truths and prayed together. Though we couldn’t be together physically we were indeed together!

Yes, God’s character and his promises never change, and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. Amen!
