Willing to Give a Coffee Break Leader a Lift to Inspire 2017?

Meredith VanDijk from Neerlandia CRC looks forward to attending Inspire 2017, August 3-5 in Detroit, MI. She expects to be encouraged by meeting other Coffee Break leaders and learning fresh ideas. Here’s the problem, it’s challenging to fly from Neerlandia to Detroit. She’s wondering if a nice person would pick her up from an airport in either London or Hamilton, Ontario and generously provide a lift to Detroit.

Meredith is one of the Coffee Break coordinators at her church in Neerlandia. Their group serves an important role of connecting women of their community who might not naturally connect. Meredith is an outdoor person and a farm girl who likes spending time in the pig barn. She also likes reading and outdoor sports.

She seems like a really nice person. Do you have room for her in your car? If so, email [email protected] and we will get you connected!

Also, remember to sign up for Inspire 2017!

If you haven’t heard about Inspire 2017, here’s a description from an earlier post:

Come join the fun! Inspire is a new kind of gathering where ministry leaders of all kinds will meet together for shared learning, to swap ideas and be inspired. Coffee Break small group leaders will learn alongside church planters and Story Hour leaders alongside campus ministry leaders. Imagine the conversations!

The flexible format will allow your group to create your own learning event based on the needs and context of your ministry. Three breakouts have been specifically designed for small group Bible discovery leaders. There is also a breakout to Inspire preschool ministry leaders. You can find more information on the Inspire website under the Sessions tab (session numbers are 35, 36, and 60) or listed below:

  • Small Group Mechanics, Presenter: Sam Huizenga
  • Engaging Scripture for Greatest Impact, Presenter Marian Lensink
  • From Indonesia to Iowa: How Bible Discovery Translates, Presenters: Diane Averill and Leadership Panel
  • Preschool Ministry: The benefits of starting, sustaining and sharing the commitment. Presenter Scott Vander Ploeg

The large group gatherings will top off breakout learning. The main gathering speakers—Ann Voskamp, Richard Mouw, Harvey Carry, Ruth Padilla DeBorst—will have great insights for all of us. You won’t want to miss this!

In addition, Coffee Break and Story Hour leaders will have a few fun ways to connect. Coffee Break Ministry leaders are invited to a “Sticky Gathering” on Thursday night to meet each other, have great conversations, and maybe even win a door prize. There will be lots of ways to connect throughout the event. There are discounts for group registration. Check it out at Inspire 2017.
