Disability Concerns Canada has published a newsletter for advocates, ministry leaders, and all who are creating the church to be a place where everybody belongs and everybody serves. There is one article specific to the Canadian context, but the remainder of the pieces are must-reads all over North America.

In the June 2019 issue, you will find:

  • An article written by Mark Stephenson, director of Disability Concerns CRC, highlighting a workshop coming to Inspire 2019 (August 1-3 in Windson, ON). The article also describes the joys of working across denominations with Terry DeYoung (director of Disability Concerns RCA).
  • Thoughts on Reimagining Disability and Mental Health offered by Caroline Short, based on her course with Dr. John Swinton. She shares “The challenge for each of us is to receive each person with an unhurried love.” Read more about what she learned!
  • An invitation to look at the hearts of people from Jenna Hoff.  Jenna reflects on how “We all want to be treated with dignity. We all want to be loved. We all want to be seen for who we are and not the barriers that tend to divide us.”
  • information on the new YouTube channel created by Disability Concerns
  • and more!

Be sure to download, read, and share! Thank you to Jenna Hoff for your diligent work in putting this issue together.
