In this webinar we’ll look at re-creating elder visits with every type of household represented in our congregations, from the ground up in the 21st Century. We will focus on how to use the visit to discover, encourage, and gently blow on the spark of faith in their lives so that they are encouraged and sense that Jesus has come close to them. We will accomplish this by exploring very practical “how to” steps for the visit. All aspects of the visit: pre-visit, during the visit, post visit, along with potential problems, will be discussed.

Our presenter: Pastor Bill Van Der Heide is a graduate of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary. Since being ordained in 1980 in Hawarden, IA he’s served congregations in Iowa, Michigan, and Montana and is currently the pastor of Ocheyedan Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He and his wife Marge have two married sons and three grandchildren. Pastor Van Der Heide is passionate about elder visits and their potential to revitalize the church family and congregational life.
