'Spiritual Disciplines' Theme for Adult Education?

Have any church bodies used a spiritual disciplines/practices theme or course for their weekly adult education?

Thanks for your input!

Hi Kristina,

Great question. There are great resources on spiritual practices. I highly recommend David Fitch's book
Faithful Presence. He has a shortened version of it called Seven Practices for the Church on Mission. These are spiritual practices the help the church engage with its community.

Also, think about how the learning process might actually be "practice." What about learning together than sending them out to practice. The next week they can report back what happened.

Churches that I work with have selected a particular discipline to emphasize such as prayer- the daily examin or Bible reading using the Immerse Bible series.  One of my favorite books on this topic is Practicing Faith by Dorothy Bass.
