Introducing the Faith Practices Project

If there’s one important thing Christians are learning from the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be this: each of us is responsible for our own relationship with God.

Whether our churches are open or closed, whether we’re meeting in person or online, we grow in faith by opening ourselves to the work of God in our hearts and inviting the Spirit to make us more like Jesus.

Starting in September 2020, Faith Formation Ministries invites you to participate in the Faith Practices Project—a journey into twelve spiritual disciplines (or “faith practices”).

Each month, we’ll release a new set of resources on one faith practice, including

  • a brief introductory “framing” article

  • creative ideas for engaging that practice on your own, with a group, or in your family

  • suggested articles, podcasts, books, and more to help you along.

Curious about what’s coming? While we will release resources on the following schedule, all the faith practices resources will remain available for use at any point in the future. Use them however and whenever works for you!

Sept. 2020 Sabbath

Oct. 2020 Gratitude

Nov. 2020 Generosity

Dec. 2020 Hospitality

Jan. 2021 Engaging Scripture

Feb. 2021 Justice and Mercy

When each set releases, we’ll activate a link at crcna.org/FaithFormation/practices and post the link on The Network. The easiest way to be notified about release updates is to subscribe to Faith Formation Matters, our monthly e-newsletter, for release updates.

We look forward to journeying with you! If you have any questions about the Faith Practices Project, email Sandy Swartzentruber, FFM’s resource coordinator, at [email protected].
