Coming soon is something called GEMS Sunday, It’s a special day to celebrate the girls and women in your GEMS Club.

It’s a great opportunity to let your congregation know what takes place at GEMS while providing girls with leadership opportunities in intergenerational worship. This includes sharing the Annual Theme studied in GEMS Clubs throughout the season. During the 2018-19 year we studied what it means to Be a Blessing.

As you celebrate God’s blessings in your club, here are 4 essential keys to planning your GEMS Sunday.

Choose a date. GEMS Sunday can be scheduled for April 28, May 5, or any other date of your choosing.

Connect with your Club Coordinator. Pray and talk through the details of the service. How can you involve your girls as much as possible? Use their gifts and give opportunities for leadership so they can encourage and serve the rest of the body of Christ. Maybe it’s greeting members at the door, leading Praise & Worship and/or sharing their testimonies, or serving cake after the service to celebrate GEMS Girls’ Clubs 60th birthday.

Check the GEMS website for GEMS Sunday resources. Go to the GEMS website for free downloads, including: the GEMS Sunday Pastor Letter and Theme Outline, the Be a Blessing Litany (available as Google slides, PDF slides, and a printable PDF), and a Be a Blessing Children’s Bulletin. Be a Blessing Bulletin inserts and covers are available at the GEMS Store. Have more questions? Email [email protected] or call 616.241.5616 ext. 3032.

Cover GEMS Sunday in prayer. Pray with your Club Coordinator, leaders and girls. Pray for your Club Coordinator, leaders, girls, and their families—some who may be attending church for the very first time!

As you celebrate GEMS Sunday, may the Fount of every blessing use His girls to tune every heart to sing His praise!
