Events Celebrate 125 Years of Christian Reformed World Missions

In 1888 a Dutch-speaking immigrant denomination of less than 10,000 members felt called by God to communicate the Gospel through cross-cultural mission work.  They could hardly have imagined that through 125 years, God would use this little part of His Church to plant churches numbering more than a million people around the world, in addition to training leaders, developing health care, schools, and much more.  During this anniversary year the history and current ministry of Christian Reformed World Missions will be celebrated in a variety of ways.  At www.crwm.org/125 you can see a painting, order a book, read stories, watch videos and learn about events that will be happening in several areas.  If you live in the Great Lakes area, take a look at the events below.  Other events are listed here.  We look forward to seeing you there. 

Michigan event:

Celebrate 125 years of the Christian Reformed Church in Global Missions. On Wednesday, September 25, at 7:00pm, Christian Reformed World Missions will host a special anniversary event at the Calvin College Prince Conference Center. Come out to celebrate God’s work, reminisce with old friends, hear a captivating account from James C. Schaap of missionary novelist Casey Kuipers, and enjoy a cup of coffee and some dessert. Chicagoland event:

Celebrate 125 years of the Christian Reformed Church in Global Missions. On Saturday, September 28, from 4:30 to 7:00pm, Christian Reformed World Missions will host a special anniversary dinner event at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. Come out to celebrate God’s work, reminisce with old friends, enjoy the Illiana Chamber Singers, and hear a captivating account from James C. Schaap of missionary novelist Casey Kuipers.
