Jan Disselkoen Walking the Camino de Santiago

One of World Renew’s longest and most faithful volunteers is off on yet another adventure--hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

Jan began with the CRC in 1983, working as a teacher with World Missions in Sierra Leone. From 1984 until 1996 she served as the Literacy Supervisor, Assistant Team Leader, and Staff Developer in Sierra Leone. After completing her masters in 1998, she became the Senior Consultant in Niger. Finally, she moved back to North America and worked as the Learning and Innovation Coordinator for the Delta Team, based in Burlington, Ontario for eight years. She retired on June 30 of 2014, making it 30 years exactly that she worked for World Renew.

Now Jan is joining a one thousand year old community of Christians who have made the pilgrimage. She is making her journey to raise money for World Renew and is praying for a different country each day: 38 countries in 38 days.

Jan is making an incredible journey--not only for herself, but for World Renew and the people she is sharing her stories with.

Make sure to visit her blog and learn more about the countries on her heart and her amazing walk through Spain. You can also sponsor her (and World Renew!) by clicking here.

Blessings to you, Jan, as you go on this adventure and walk the Camino out of gratitude!
