I was hoping to hear some stories of how the relationship between your church and a mission organization has helped shape your church's heart for mission.

About 5 years ago I introduced our church to Providence World Ministries. As a Director of Student Ministries I was looking for a “mission" opportunity that would not only involve the youth but the entire church body. Their vision was very compelling and thorough (so compelling that I now work for them:) We initially sent out a team of 9 to their orphanage in Honduras. The work that had already been done, the amount of work that still needed to be done and the people who were making it happen, left us deeply impressed.

We felt the need to send more teams, more resources, and more financial support.

5 years later (about 75 church members have been to Honduras) our church is not only deeply committed to Providence. We send off people continuously to mission fields in Guatemala, Ethiopia, China, and Ukraine through different organizations. Building the relationship with Providence changed the way we engage global missions. It has become part of our story. It is who we are.

I would love to hear your stories…

Paul
