So often in our churches today, our default approach to conflict isn’t modeled after Christ. When we encounter division and polarization, our postures tend to lean toward the anger, fear, and self-protection that we see in the world around us.

But what if the very conflicts in our midst provide the opportunity we need to mature in our Christian faith? What if the conflict that alienates people and tarnishes the image of Christ to a watching world could instead demonstrate how Christ holds His people together?

Join The Colossian Forum to learn how Christians can faithfully engage conflict as an opportunity to grow in love of God and neighbor. Through a series of four interactive workshops rooted in The Colossian Way methodology, participants will learn to faithfully engage a variety of topics from political polarization to conversations around human sexuality.

Workshops include:

  • Introduction: Gain a deeper understanding of The Colossian Way methodology and how it can be applied to the conflicts your congregation faces.
  • Human Sexuality: Explore how we, as Christians, can faithfully navigate conversations around same-sex marriage and gay Christian leadership.
  • Equipping Your Church: Learn about WayFinder, the next step in equipping Christian leaders to transform cultural conflicts into opportunities for spiritual growth and witness.
  • Politics: Discover how your congregation can find unity in Christ, even amidst political polarization in the pews.

Each workshop will be led by Rev. Kevin Douglas, The Colossian Forum’s Vice President of Partnerships. As a former pastor in New York City, Kevin has extensive experience leading congregations through conflict. He now uses that knowledge and experience to equip Christian leaders to serve confidently in our divided culture.
