When the angel left, Mary was alone.
To be alone…To have a burden and be alone…
Mary pondered the message of the angel.
She needed to talk with someone.
It seemed that there was no one to talk with.

Then she thought of her cousin Elizabeth.
Not that she knew her well, seeing that Mary lived in Galilee and Elizabeth in Judea.
But she had heard enough about Elizabeth: a godly, wise woman.
Could she go all the way to Judea to see Elizabeth?
Yes, she could!
And she did!

She “hurried” to the hill country of Judea.
And they embraced, two women, and in between them the sacred secrets.

There are many lonely people.
Can you recognize an Elizabeth somewhere near you?
Can you be someone's Elizabeth?

Christmas is the season of togetherness…to be and to have an Elizabeth.
