Dr. Martin Luther King Community Celebration Event


On Sunday January 17, 2021 at 6:00 pm (EST), the successful annual Grand Rapids (Mich.) city-wide Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Community Celebration will take place.

The CRC Office of Race Relations has co-sponsored this event that will highlight Dr. King's theoretical postulations and endeavors through expressive language of the arts and a powerful positive message. The evening will culminate with keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Howard Earle, Senior Pastor at New Hope Baptist Church (Grand Rapids, Mich.). We celebrate on one accord with attendance that has boasted 900+ in previous years.

This year, due to COVID-19, the event will be held live via Facebook and YouTube. While the 2021 event will be different, we believe it bears special significance because the challenges we have all faced in 2020 and the powerful racial reckoning America is currently experiencing.
