Family Fire: Stoking the Spirit’s flame at home

It’s been said that the family is the crucible of discipleship. God’s highest call to parents is to lead their own children to Him. The exhortation in Deuteronomy 6:7, “You shall teach [these commandments] diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise,” is both literal and figurative. These are the very best times to teach your children the way of the Lord, but they also represent all the time. We lead by example, by modeling what is well done. We do not teach alone in our own power. God’s Word provides a curriculum and standard; His Holy Spirit gives us insight and understanding. Wisdom is ours just for the asking. Recently, Family Fire from ReFrame Media, has explored themes of shepherding others in the faith from a distinctly reformed perspective.
