As some or many of you know, that YouTube video I linked in this blog two weeks ago of Chorus Niagara singing "The Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah has "gone viral," as they say. With over 13,000,000 hits and counting, this stirring piece has captivated millions for a few minutes--or more; 13,000,000 is more than one-third of the population of Canada.

If you don't yet know what I'm talking about, find the blog of two weeks ago or just google "Chorus Niagara Hallelujah Chorus" and stand back with open ears and heart. Oh yes--and look at the faces of the wonderfully surprised mall shoppers. There's light in their eyes that I believe finds its mysterious origin in THE Light of the World peeking in to poke us gently and beautifully.

If you have already seen this and passed it on, maybe you're still interested in some of the background of this piece of spiritual "performance art" reported in Niagara (southern Ontario) regional media.

By the way Rose and I going to see and hear Niagara Chorus sing Messiah this coming Sunday in St. Catharines. This will be one more little way of celebrating Advent--waiting for Jesus second coming while remembering and hallelujahing God for his first coming.

Let this gift keep giving.

Looks like there was an encore performance to accompany this encore blog post.

Chorus Niagara returned to the food court where it all began. It was covered on Canada AM, a national telecast. Check out the encore performance and a standing O from a packed house.
