Every Tuesday at 1:00 pm EST, Worship Ministries hosts a roundtable conversation on Zoom around a variety of topics. Often we brainstorm for specific liturgical dates and seasons, but some conversations are more broad and cover worship and church-related issues.
October 12: October 31 is more commonly celebrated as Reformation Day in our churches. Many also observe All Saints Day. We'll spend the hour talking about All Saints and sharing ideas for ways to incorporate this into our worship services in a meaningful, Reformed way. As Covid deaths continue to rise and many of us have lost loved ones, how can we use this liturgical date to mourn what has been lost, and look with gratitude and hope to the future. Come talk All Saints!
October 19: Special conversation with Kathy Smith from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship. Kathy leads the Vital Worship Grants Program and will be available for questions about what it looks like to apply for one of these grants. In advance of this conversation, take some time to look up the grants program! https://worship.calvin.edu/grants/worshiping-communities/
October 26: Where have all the volunteers gone?! One of the recurring issues that has come up at roundtables in the last few months is that churches are struggling to find volunteers for many of their ministries. Is this true in your context? We won't be able to solve this problem in an hour roundtable, but we can definitely talk, share, and brainstorm.
