“Power Sharing” - Dec. 2021 Race Relations Webinar

You’re invited to a virtual learning event on Tuesday, December 7 at 12:00 pm (Eastern). This is a Free Webinar hosted by the CRCs Office of Race Relations.

“Power Sharing: A Conversation about Working Interculturally”

In this discussion, we’ll feature the interim director of Race Relations and the staff speaking about how they work together in fighting racism, remain respectful of their differences and recognize how privilege/power affects team dynamics. They’ll speak to why it is important to understand how the current socio-political cultural climate has hijacked our Christian identity and the capacity in fighting racism.

Some of the Scripture powering this conversation comes from Galatians 2:11-21, where Paul (the “Hebrew of Hebrews” - Phil. 3:5) confronts Peter and uses his power and influence to advocate for the Gentiles while calling out hypocrisy.

Following this webinar, we trust you’ll walk away knowing:

  1. Ways to navigate sharing of power between cultures.
  2. How to use leadership power to advocate for BIPOC staff.
  3. Importance of practicing vulnerability and ways to demonstrate it.
