Additional information about Diane Langberg:

She is the director of Diane Langberg, Ph.D. & Associates, staffed by a group of Christian psychologists, social workers and counselors in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She serves on the clinical faculty at Biblical Theological Seminary where she co-leads the Global Trauma Recovery Institute with Dr. Phil Monroe. She is the author of many books on topics related to trauma, suffering and God’s power to overcome. She is also a columnist for Christian Counseling Today and contributes to many other publications.

Diane’s career as a Christian psychologist began over 40 years ago, when she started working with the Christian community and began to hear stories of sexual abuse. When her counseling supervisor advised her that women telling these stories were seeking attention and giving them attention would increase their pathology, Diane took a different path. She began to listen, and it became her life’s work. She saw a connection between the trauma of the war veterans she was counseling, and those who had experienced sexual abuse, which led her to learn and to become an expert on trauma. She understands sexual abuse as an abuse of power, a trauma, an oppression, an almost unimaginable evil.

Over the years, the Lord brought into her path Christian leaders, and she worked with both wounded leaders and wounded sheep within the context of the Church. She often saw sin hidden rather than exposed and the protection of institutions and organizations at the expense of those they are called to serve.

Diane believes in the power and the work of our Redeemer, to bring hope and healing to a broken world. She is a sought-after international speaker. She has also written several books, her most recent, released October 20, is called, Redeeming Power: Understanding Authority and Abuse in the Church.
