After writing for the Network for over a year, this is my last post as a guide for the Sunday School Network. For most of that year I have posted something new each week and that has sometimes been a real challenge! There were times when I had no idea what to write about and then something happens at church that starts the wheels turning. It’s been a great opportunity to try to articulate some of the things a church educator like me thinks about on a weekly basis. It’s also been great to be able to think, write and share these things. Being a guide on the Network has helped me examine the work that I do and think about it in relationship to the whole CRCNA. Having a vital and active denomination is important and can be especially helpful to all of us as we work in our individual churches. The Network can be one way to strengthen denominational identity and encourage us to talk to each other. I’m pleased to have been a part of it for the past year.

Thank you, too, both loyal and occasional readers, for reading and sharing your thoughts! It has been great hearing other voices speaking about the importance of growing faith in our churches for all generations.

But after a year of writing it’s time for someone else to take over. The good news is that Jolanda Howe will be returning as guide for Sunday School. Jolanda was the original guide and works as the training coordinator at Faith Alive Christian Resources. I always enjoyed Jolanda’s posts when she was guide before and I’m thrilled to have her back as a guide.

Like you, I have a busy summer planned with summer church programs, preparing for fall, writing, and spending time with my family. I will also be looking forward to learning more from you and others about how to be better at my ministry by reading the network! Thanks for reading!

Laura,

Thanks for sharing your perspective and for all of your contributions to the Sunday School network.  We hope you'll continue to be a contributor even as you head into "retirement."

Thanks for all of your articles and insights, Laura! You and your ministry are a gift to the CRC. You do so much to encourage, inspire, and equip church staff members, children's ministry directors, and Sunday school coordinators. I am always challenged and blessed by you!
