If you’re a doer like me, you’ll find it easier to check things off the list than be still to pause for prayer. But walking in step with the Spirit is essential. Like Martha in the kitchen, nothing that we do is as important as the relationship we’re cultivating with God.

Encourage your leaders to slow down and spend time praying about their lessons and for the kids in their class. Model that priority by making prayer a meaningful part of your ministry and your leaders’ meetings. Expect the Lord to reshape your vision, prepare your heart, and clarify your priorities as you look to him for guidance in everything.

Here are a couple helpful prayer resources to check out: Praying in Color and Praying in Color With Kids by Sybil MacBeth. All include great ideas for teachers and parents.
