It’s easy to rush into planning for a new season without hitting the “pause” button to consider what went well last year and what problems you hope to avoid this time around. Now that you’ve had a little break from regular programing, think back on what stands out about last season. What areas required trouble shooting? What went really smoothly? Is a good system in place for the basics — the distribution of teaching materials, supplies, information, and ideas. What feedback, if any, did you receive from parents?

Consider sending out a two question survey this week to all of your leaders/teachers and parents:

  • What went well last year that you’d like to see happen again?
  • What would you change about Sunday school this season?

Mention that everyone who responds will have their name put into a drawing for a favorite local coffee shop or bakery. You may end up with the sweetest treat if their ideas lead to more success this season!

How about you, how would you answer these questions about the Sunday school ministry?
