I think there is a certain entrepreneurial aspect that is required to plant a church that may not normally be an inclination of those training to be theologians.
As one delegate at Synod 2008 stated, in comparing ministry associates with ministers of the Word, they are “equal in function, but differ in honor”. What does this mean for the church today, in particular, with regard to the office of ministry associates? Allow me to make a few propositions that invite reaction.
Here is a basic question for you: What do people call you? Reverend? Pastor? Ministry Associate?
It seems like if the CRC is going to support the Ministry Associate program, it might be a good idea to offer some classes online for those of us who are interested. Do you know if there are any plans for this?
