We're reading through and discussing N.T. Wright's book, "Surprised by Hope: Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church." Has anyone else read this book with a group from church? I'm curious to hear about how other's feel Wright's theology .
It would be nice to be able to connect to, meet & socialize with other CRC single members — instead of it being so hard to find each other.

Wondering if a church "opts out" of the Minister's Pension Plan, even temporarily, if it's possible to pick it up again in the future? Or is it a case of once you're out, you're out??
In the episode "Parenting Made Easy” (The Good Wife) a character who is involved in a legal arbitration case is accused of being homophobic. The character states her views are based on being a Christian and mentions that she is a member of the Christian Reformed Church. What are your thoughts?

Our world seems a little parched lately, doesn't it? It's thirsty for justice and hope and love. I think this is why I love going to church. I go to church because the gospel is preached to us; we who have shown up with our dry and brittle selves.
For some time now I have come to the conclusion that it's time for the Canadian churches to have our own Synod — to determine the will of God for our churches in a unique Canadian context. The cultural divide between our two countries has always been great, but it has become increasingly so of late.
