We have several people who participate in selecting songs for worship at our church, and a question has come up regarding copyright and whether it is permissible to change the words of a song that is copyrighted.
I am interested in what "new" songs (released last 12-18 months) you are singing at your church that you recommend. We try to add maybe 5-10 new songs per year.
Over in the Deacon's forum, someone is looking for advice about Spiritual Gifts surveys, and I know some Ministry Coordinators might have some helpful tips. Find that question posted in the Deacons section.
I sort of secretly hope that those leading these ministries at my church ... don't find this post. I'm afraid they will panic if they find out I've suggested people do less at church. But that's not what I'm suggesting. Rather, I'm suggesting that people do more — more of what they are gifted to do.
Pastors, does anyone have personal experience with or has heard of a conference called LifeServe?
I got a suggestion to look into the LifeServe National Conference, and I'm wondering if anyone has heard about or attended the conference and/or the accompanying Equipping Institute.
Is Sunday a work day for you or not? If not, are there challenges in protecting your day of rest when you attend worship where you work? If your congregation considers Sunday as a work day for you, how do you find space and time for renewal on another day?
What about you? What tips do you have for deciding what work is most important?
Does your church have plans to start a new ministry? Are you working to reinvigorate an existing ministry? Would love to hear your ideas!
I'm interested in resources and ideas to help us do better at our greeting and ushering ministries.
I'm interested in following a few active (at least 2-3 posts/week) church Facebook pages. Is your church on Facebook? Please post a link so I can check out the page. Thanks!
