Hello all! I'm a youth leader in Grand Rapids. I'm wondering what your opinions are on helping youth make a transition into adulthood. More specifically, how do we as youth leaders assist students as they mature in their spiritual lives. I guess the reason for my asking this is that, as youth leaders, we often encourage our kids to be wild and wacky in the games we play. Then once they graduate high school they should know to flip the switch and turn into mature adults. What are some techniques/lessons/events you use to help this transition? Thanks, - Mark

So I was wondering if anyone has experience as the Lead Pastor in a house church network? What was your experience? How was it organized? How effective was the structure? Leadership pro's and con's? Anything anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
There is a fair amount of material on the web for streaming a worship service. Besides doing a podcast for those who want to listen anytime, we have set a goal for ourselves to be able to audio stream, and possibly video stream the service. I would appreciate some suggestions, guidelines, and/or a procedure on how to set this up. D. Klein http://www.sussexcrc.org/
Our Cadet club has been shrinking for the last several years. We have terrific co-ordinator who truly loves the ministry and the boys, but it seems like each year there are less and less boys who attend. I am wondering what other CRCs have done to promote their Cadet clubs and increase their membership. Is this a denomination wide problem, or is it just our goup? I wonder if a name change would help....??? Any ideas would be great! Yours in Christ, Grace
Hi: Being a first term Clerk of Council, my understanding of the position is probably pretty limited. Essentially, I've been keeping minutes and passing on correspondence. Anybody with more experience want to take a stab at a good job description? Or know of a resource with a better description? Thanks in advance, Brad
I'm interested in learning what specific things other churches are doing to be intentional about diversity. What practical steps has your church implemented to become more diverse?
Greeting, I thought I would post something here right away. Yes I am ordained as a Ministry Associate. Have been for about 4 years. Curious how this forum will work. I am also especially curious to hear about how people are doing ministry are doing ministry as a Ministry Associate. I work as an community worker and evangelist in a type of 2nd staff position in an established church. Mark Van Drunen
We're running the Alpha Course at our church now as I have in my past two churches where I've served. I'm curious about the spiritual fruit that has been harvested as a result of your experience with this program.

I have been using Access to keep track of membership information. I would like to be able to import this into an off-the-shelf piece of software. I've seen various titles out there, but don't know which one is the right one. Is there something out there that would work for a typical CRC Clerk-of-Records?

What software (besides Powerpoint) do you use in your church to project songs, liturgy, and notes? It's been a while for me, but I have used SongShow Plus and I don't remember the other.

I spent last weekend with a group of high school students at a program called TEC --Teens Encountering Christ (if you're in West Michigan, check it out: westmichtec.org). One person in our discussion group is an agnostic, but was asking very good questions about faith. I recommended C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity as a way to help answer some of those questions. Any other suggestions? ~ Sharon

The church order requires that we do a Home Visit (Art 65). Yet how we conduct a visit, how effective it is, and whether this is a useful strategy is constantly debated. In this forum we want you to share your thoughts, suggestions and encouragements. After all, we need to support each other. I waiting to hear from you. Neil
