I saw the words "justice" and "equality" on the handouts my six-year-old son had brought home from school. He didn't know what "justice" meant. In truth, many grown-ups also have a hard time defining justice.
Does the Bible contain the 2nd Amendment principle, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed?"
The best way to do justice is to follow Scripture and pursue actual justice. The CRC can and should get involved in politics, but only within the context of the following three criteria.
The Synod of the CRC has voiced support for comprehensive immigration reform, part of which is a secure border. Immigration justice requires us to welcome the stranger to a country that is faithful to sound Biblical principles.
Fossil fuels are much criticized these days. Rather than lamenting them, I thank my loving Creator for them.
Could the CRC be maneuvered, via our church order and procedural mechanisms, into affirming the LGBTQ agenda?
