Here's my story of navigating an urban theology through the lens of disability.
In this post I explore the tough reality that folks who have slept outside most of their lives face when they get housing. I hope this invites discussion on the role of the church during these sorts of transitions.
This short reflection offers a glimpse into the essence of Contextualized Community Care. We spend time with precious people who sleep outside, use drugs, and have to engage in survival sex work.
Overture 8 asks Synod 2019 to withdraw two assertions made by Synod 2012 in accepting the Creation Stewardship Task Force. This commentary addresses Overture 8 and concludes that they fail to support the requested actions.

If passed, what would the effect of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act be? How would we know? What should we know to responsibly lobby for or against it?
Fossil fuels are much criticized these days. Rather than lamenting them, I thank my loving Creator for them.
Responsible political advocacy must do more than offer only one side of a multi-sided issues, both as to facts and arguments. Being "one-sided" cannot and will not result in justice for all, but rather intractable division.

My advice to you is the advice I’m learning to embrace myself: write boldly about important things, ruffle feathers, speak your truth, love God, be propelled out, build community, proclaim Christ!
We don’t know what we invite in when we open up our table. What we do know is that we have been called by a welcoming God. We know that we have been called by a God who just loves to reconcile—it’s his favorite work.
Does the Bible contain the 2nd Amendment principle, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed?"
March is celebrated as Women's History Month. With this in mind, I wanted to share some books authored by women that have ignited my faith, moved me to action, and helped form my identity in Christ.
